Join us for an intrepid night of fear and terror at the very haunted Grand Pavilion in Matlock
Matlock Bath in Derbyshire is a place said to be well known for its many ghostly tales and sightings and the Grand Pavilion building, found in the heart of this well know tourist attraction is certainly no exception!
History
The Grand Pavilion was built in the Edwardian period in the early 1900’s, this very atmospheric and unusual building houses over 100 years of history, so it should come as no surprise that ghostly visitors and eerie stories have been reported here for many years.
This is a building where time seems to have stood still, built originally as a tea room the Pavilion entertained locals and visiting tourists to Matlock Bath by holding popular dances, plays and concerts.
During war time the Pavilion also supported the serving forces, by hosting fund raising events, such as concerts and shows and also provided space for serving officers to organise and feed their troops.
Ghostly Activity
Found deep in the Derbyshire country side this formidable location is said to house many ghosts and spirits, the sounds of heavy footsteps have been reported many times, along with ghostly apparitions, said to have been seen and witnessed by previous visiting ghost hunters here.
Poltergeist activities in certain areas of this old building have been reported, along with eerie Knocking and taps, in response to questions asked. Odd noises, such as heavy breathing sounds are also said to frequently happen here during investigations.
This is an extremely scary and terrifying building, with its creaky floor boards, eerie staircases, cold spots throughout and the sounds of children’s laughter often heard and reported, then why not Join Paranormalcityevents in the darkness, as we seek to communicate with the many unseen energies at this incredibly old haunted Grand Pavilion!
There are many areas to explore, and all come with their own stories of ghostly sightings and strange phenomenon. You will get to explore many rooms on the upper floors, including the main hall and stage, the dressing rooms and top floor rooms with access via a ladder to the dome structure at the very top of the Pavilion; an area that is very active and where a tragic accident occurred leading to a man’s death after he fell from the dome level during construction. Will you contact the spirit of this man on your ghost hunt at The Grand Pavilion?
